Senegal forward Sadio Mane has hailed a disciplined team effort after the Lions of Teranga edged Egypt 1-0 to reach the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The tightly contested semifinal, played on Wednesday night at the Tangier Grand Stadium, was decided by Mane’s composed finish in the 78th minute, sealing a hard-earned victory over the Pharaohs.
Speaking after the match, the Al-Nassr attacker praised his teammates for their concentration and tactical maturity, highlighting the importance of avoiding costly mistakes.
“From the start, we did it together. We avoided making individual errors or committing unnecessary fouls. I think we managed the game well from start to finish and, overall, we deserved to win,” Mane said.
Senegal will now face the winner of the semifinal between Nigeria and Morocco in Sunday’s final, and Mane insists his side will be fully prepared for the showdown.
“We have to be honest about the final, and I think all the teams are amazing. We’ll see, and we’ll try to be ready for the final, above all to give our best.”
