Egypt forward Mahmoud Hassan, popularly known as Trezeguet, has declared the Pharaohs’ readiness ahead of their semifinal showdown against Senegal at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The seven-time champions will lock horns with the Teranga Lions at the Tangier Grand Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 17:00 GMT, in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter between two continental heavyweights.
Aware of the quality and ambition within Pape Thiaw’s Senegal side, Egypt are bracing themselves for a contest where fine margins could determine the outcome.
Speaking to CAF Media, the Al Ahly attacker revealed that the team has maintained a final-like mindset throughout the tournament, stressing that their approach will not change for the semifinal clash.
“Since the start of the competition, we have approached every match as a final,” Trezeguet said.
“The preparation remains intense, just like for all our games. We know very well how difficult the match against Senegal will be, They are a great team with great players, but we are ready,” he added.
The winner of the encounter will secure a place in the final as the race for continental glory reaches its climax.
