Tunisia international Elias Saad is a major doubt for the high-stake 2025 Africa Cup of Nation round 16 clash against Mali due to an injury setback.
The Carthage Eagles will lock horns with the Eagles of Mali on Saturday, January 3, 2026, with both teams seeking for victory to advance to the quarter finals of the continental showpiece, being held in Morocco.
Ahead of the clash, Tunisia coach Sami Trabelsi has disclosed the enterprising winger could miss the much-anticipated clash, coming as a huge blow to the team.
“There are doubts surrounding Elias Saad” he said as the pre-match conference on Friday afternoon.
Despite doubt about Elias Saad’s availability, Sam Trabelsi is looking forward to securing qualification at the expense of Mali.
“Mali is a great football team and has players of excellent quality. They are a good team technically and physically.”
“These matches are played on small details that must be exploited. It may be a closed match with not many opportunities, and we must take advantage of our opportunities, which is the key to winning the match.”
“We saw the Malian national team draw in 3 matches and they performed at a high level against Morocco.”
“We want to be more consistent, not rush things, and take advantage of the opportunities available in the match.” He concluded.
