South Africa international Lyle Foster has expressed his delight following the side’s victory against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations opening game.
Foster, who plies his trade for Burnley in the Premier League stole the show, netting the match-winner for the Bafana Bafana in a high-stake clash on Monday.
His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, winning the man of the match award after the crucial game, held at the Stade de Marrakesh in Morocco.
“The chance before, I think I hesitated a little bit with the pressure coming out,” Foster said.
“Obviously, with the second one, I think we did well to win the ball back again and got the ball at my feet. I wanted to score, so I just told myself to put it there. Thank God the luck was on my side. I think we just have to keep trying. Not every goal is going to go in, but one or two will, so we just have to keep shooting.”
Having triumphed over Angola, Hugo Broos and his charges will eyeing a positive result against the Pharaohs of Egyutp, scheduled for Friday, December 26, 2025.
