Nigeria star Victor Osimhen has downplayed pressure ahead of their crucial semi-final clash against Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles triumphed over Algeria in the quarterfinals, setting up a fierce battle with the Morocco, who also defeated Cameroon.
The Atlas Lions lock horns with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah on Wednesday, with victory crucial to securing qualification to the finals of the tournament.
“The Moroccans will play in front of tens of thousands of their supporters. Many of us are used to playing in front of 80,000 or 90,000 spectators. Personally, I don’t feel ANY PRESSURE.” He said ahead of the match.
Osimhen has been outstanding for the Super Eagles at the ongoing AFCON tournament, scoring four goals, placing him joint second in the tournament’s top scoring chart.
The Galatasaray marksman is expected to play a huge role for the West African football heavyweights, who are chasing their first AFCON title since 2013.
The winner of the match is scheduled to face either Senegal or Egypt in the final of the continental showpiece, being held in Morocco.
