Morocco striker Ayoub El Kaabi has set his sights on lifting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy.
The Atlas Lions booked their place in the round of 16 with a dominant 3-0 victory over Zambia on Monday, with El Kaabi contributing a stunning goal.
Reflecting on the win, El Kaabi said, “We achieved the most important thing by securing the points of the match to continue the journey in our stadium in Rabat.”
On being named Man of the Match, he added, “I am happy with this award, and I am waiting for the ultimate prize, which is winning the African title.”
He wrapped up by emphasizing the team’s focus on the next challenge: “We are taking it one game at a time, and now the focus is on the next match. I thank the players for their efforts and fighting spirit, and the Moroccan fans for their support.”
