AFCON 2025: Morocco coach Walid Regragui eyes glory on home soil
Head coach of Morocco, Walid Regragui has stressed his outfit determination and a clear ambition to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.
The Atlas Lions will open their account against Comoros on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, with both teams aiming for a flying start to the competition.
As the team gears up for the opener, Regragui has affirmed his outfit determination to annex the prestigious trophy on home soil.
“Our goal is to win the title in front of our home crowd, and we hope to offer the best possible competition.” He said.
Morocco are seeking for their second Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil, having just won once in their history back in 1976.
Following an impressive performance at the World Cup in 2022, Regragui and his charges are aiming to deliver a strong performance at the AFCON in an attempt to secure the title at the end of the competition.
The 35th edition of the continental showpiece has been scheduled to take place from December 21 through to January 18, 2025 in Morocco, with 24 countries set to battle it out for the covetous trophy.
