Mohamed Amoura raised the bar of ambition after Algeria’s gruelling 1-0 extra-time win over DR Congo in the AFCON 2025 last 16, stressing that the team is determined to keep making its supporters proud.
The forward spoke after a tense match that went to two extra periods before substitute Adil Boulbina struck the decisive goal in the 118th minute to send the Desert Warriors into the quarter-finals.
“This win was not easy and we dedicate it to the Algerian fans who supported us throughout the match and stood by us every moment,” Amoura said, highlighting the role of the crowd in pushing the players to the end.
He added: “God willing, we will make the Algerian people happy in the next rounds. Every match will be difficult no matter who we face, and we will do our job on the pitch with full seriousness and focus to stay in the competition.”
Amoura underlined that Algeria will fight to maintain its positive run, noting that the players feel a huge responsibility to bring joy to their fans as they prepare for a fiery quarter-final against Nigeria.
