The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has stressed that the chaos that marred the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Morocco was unacceptable.
A showdown between Senegal and Morocco witnessed a disappointing ending in regulation time when a penalty was awarded to the host nation.
Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw ordered his players to stage a walk-off after the incident, dragging the match for over 10 minutes before players were recalled to finish the match by captain Sadio Mane.
On Thursday, the CAF Disciplinary Committee handed down sanctions to both Morocco and Senegal, as well as players and officials found culpable of breaching various regulations.
