Ivory Coast star Amad Diallo has expressed great enthusiasm for his outfit upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals showdown against Egypt.
The Elephants swept aside Burkina Faso with a clean 3-0 victory in the last 16 clash on Tuesday, setting up a fiery quarter-final clash with the Pharaohs on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
It promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams seeking for victory to secure a place in the semifinals of the continental showpiece.
Speaking to CANAL+ SPORT, the Manchester United attacker stressed Egypt is a historical nemesis for Ivory Coast, while hoping his outfit can overcome the Pharaohs with the current generation.
“The Egyptian national team is strong and has a great history, and includes great players like Mohamed Salah, whom we know very well. We know that Egypt is a historical nemesis for Ivory Coast, but times have changed and this is a new generation.”
