Egyptian Football Association president Hani Abu Rida has sent a warm message of thanks to the fans of Agadir after their unforgettable support for the Pharaohs during the Africa Cup of Nations.
In an official letter to Moroccan FA president Fouzi Lekjaa and the governor of Agadir, he said the Egyptian delegation felt “among their own people” throughout their stay in the coastal city.
Abu Rida highlighted the constant hospitality, emotional warmth and backing the team received everywhere they went in Agadir, stressing that this atmosphere helped Egypt deliver a strong tournament run up to the semi-finals.
He added: “It was the good fortune of the Pharaohs that their base and matches until the semi-final were in Agadir and among its people, and the players and staff always said that being there felt like being at home.”
With Egypt now moving to the beautiful city of Tangier for the semi-final, Abu Rida felt it was his duty to publicly thank Agadir’s people and officials. He praised Morocco’s excellent organisation, stadiums and facilities, and wished the kingdom success in hosting the 2030 World Cup.
