Former Arsenal and FC Barcelona star Alex Song beleives Cameroon will play in the final should they beat South Africa.
The two sides will clash in the Round of 16 in the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament on Sunday at the Agdal Medina Stadium, with kick-off scheduled at 19:00 GMT.
It will be the first time both sides will meet at the tournament since 1996. It will also mark the first time the teams have faced each other in the knockout phase of the competition.
Speaking in an interview, the former Cameroon international believes that if the Indomitable Lions can get past Bafana Bafana, they will go all the way to the final of AFCON 2025.
“If Cameroon beats South Africa, they will go to the final,: Song said as reported by Le Bled Parle.
The retired 38-year-old added: “It will be a very tough test against a very good team.”
Song himself reached the final of AFCON 2008, but had to settle for a runners-up medal after Cameroon lost the showpiece match to Egypt.
