On the eve of their Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Nigeria, Morocco’s Lions of the Atlas showed total unity and determination during Tuesday’s final training session in Rabat.
The squad focused heavily on tactical preparation, convinced that concentration and fans’ support will be decisive in reaching the AFCON 2025 final.
Forward Sofiane Rahimi summed up the mood in the camp, explaining that the players know the weight of responsibility on their shoulders.
“We have studied the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent. The difference will come down to small details,” he said, stressing the group’s desire to offer a trophy to the Moroccan people and thanking supporters for their constant backing.
Discipline remains the watchword under coach Walid Regragui. Defender Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal revealed that the staff spent long hours analysing Nigeria, while Abdessamad Ezzalzouli insisted the key is to “start with strength and total concentration” and apply the coach’s plan perfectly.
The players see the atmosphere at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium as a decisive weapon, with Ezzalzouli describing the fans as a “12th man” and “decisive factor” for the Lions. Kick-off is scheduled for Wednesday 14 January.
