Anis Hadji Moussa delivered a standout performance as Algeria continued its AFCON 2025 campaign with a convincing 3-1 win over Equatorial Guinea at Stade Prince Moulay El Hassan.
Operating down the right, the winger set the tone early with direct running, dangerous crosses and relentless pressing that kept the Equatoguinean backline under constant pressure.
Algeria’s dominance showed from the first whistle, and it was Hadji Moussa who helped unlock the game. After seeing a couple of his shots blocked inside the box, he finally made the breakthrough count with a pinpoint cross from a corner that Zineddine Belaid headed in for the opener. The wide man stayed involved, swinging in another teasing delivery that led to a close-range chance for Farès Chaïbi, before again providing the service that allowed Ibrahim Maza to head home Algeria’s third before half-time.
Even after the break, Hadji Moussa remained lively, winning fouls to ease pressure and carrying the ball forward whenever Algeria broke. Equatorial Guinea pulled one back through Emilio Nsue, but the early damage was done, and the Man of the Match award rightly went to Algeria’s influential winger.
