The North African giants will lock horns with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the Marrakech Stadium on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with both teams seeking for a win to secure a place in the semifinals of the tournament.

Algeria narrowly triumphed over DR Congo in the last 16 after extra-time to secure a place in the quarterfinals, while, the Super Eagles reached the last eight with a 4-0 win over Mozambique.

However, Vladimir Petkovic has embraced Nigeria challenge, setting sights on victory to secure a semifinals spot at the continental showpiece.

“We will start preparing for the match against Nigeria right now… focusing on our strengths,” “I like these kinds of matches… against teams aiming for the title.”

The last encounter between Algeria and Nigeria dates back to the semi-finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, during which the Greens achieved victory by two goals to one. Algeria went ahead to secure the title for the second time in their history during the 2019 tournament.
