With a few days to the start of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, coaches of the various national teams have started announcing their final squads for the tournament.
The latest to unveiled his final squad for next month’s tournament is Namibia as head coach Colin Benjamin named a 28-man roster.
Benjamin is expected to drop one of the four goalkeepers before officially submitting the squad list to CAF before the January 3, 2024 deadline date.
Mamelodi Sundowns star man Peter Shalulile will be headlining the Brave Warriors in Cote d’Ivoire, following his blistering form in the South African Premier League and the CAF Champions League.
Defender Ryan Nyambe, who currently plays for English League One side Derby County, has been listed for the upcoming tournament. Nyambe was eligible to represent England before making his debut for Namibia in 2019.
Benjamin will be counting on the experiences for Orlando Pirates forward Deon Hotto, Petrus Shitembi, Absalom Iimbondi, and Wendell Rudath during the tournament.
Namibia find themselves in Group E, where they will take on Tunisia, Mali, and their COSAFA rivals South Africa.
