Osman Bukari returns to the elimination of Ghana from the group stage of the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. The Ghanaian striker has apologized for his personal and team mistakes during the tournament.
The mea culpa continues to rain in Ghana after the premature exit of the Black Stars from AFCON 2023.
Most of the players on the selection admit to having disappointed the entire nation after their debacle in Abidjan. And Osman Bukari is one of those Black Stars who recognized their wrongdoing and publicly apologized.
In a statement this Monday, January 29, 2024, the Ghanaian international said he was deeply upset by this elimination for which he feels partly guilty.
“It has taken me several days to muster the words to address you, our dear fans, because of the embarrassment we have caused the nation and the fact that we have let you down, and our inability to move on to the next step had a huge impact on me because I contributed to it,” said Osman Bukari.
Acknowledging his mistakes, the player apologized and asked Ghanaians for forgiveness while promising that the team will come back stronger. “I ask you to forgive us.
We will come back better and stronger for the team and the country,” assured Osman Bukari.
