
Equatorial Guinea national team coach Juan Micha Obiang was the latest to reveal his final squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament on Sunday.
The 48-year-old has summoned a 27-man squad for the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire with experienced forward Emilio Nsue leading the Nzalang Nacional.
The 38-year-old RCD Mallorca, Middlesbrough, and Birmingham City star will be making his 3rd appearance in Africa’s biggest football tourney after the 2015 and 2021 editions.
Micha’s list also has two members of the 2015 AFCON squad that reached semi-finals when they hosted the tournament. Iban Salvador and Pablo Ganet Comitre remain a significant part of the Equatorial Guinea team.
Teenage duo Hugo Buyla, 18, playing for Sampdoria U19 and Jose Nabil Ondo, who is also 18 and plays for local club Cano Sport earned places in the Nzalang Nacional roster.
Equatorial Guinea in Group A along with host country Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria and fellow Portuguese colony Guinea Bissau.
