Christopher Katongo Left Out of Zambia’s AFCON 2015 Squad
Veteran striker and 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hero Christopher Katongo will not feature in Zambia’s squad for the 2015 tournament in Equatorial Guinea. Head coach Honor Janza made the decision official with the release of a 27-man provisional list, and the former captain’s name is notably absent.
Janza had already sidelined Katongo during a training camp in October, citing disciplinary issues. Despite his experience and leadership, it appears the coach is committed to building a new generation of Chipolopolo talent.
