Senegal Edge Gabon in Friendly Ahead of AFCON
Senegal began their preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with a narrow 1-0 victory over Gabon in a friendly played in Casablanca on Friday.
The only goal of the match came in the 68th minute, with striker Moussa Sow converting from the penalty spot after Mame Biram Diouf was fouled in the area.
The win marks a positive start for Alain Giresse’s side as they gear up for the tournament in Equatorial Guinea. Senegal will play one more warm-up fixture — against Guinea on January 13 — before their Group C opener.
Gabon, meanwhile, continue their build-up with a clash against Mali on January 11, followed by a meeting with South Africa on January 14 in Libreville.
