Nigerian international, Ademola Lookman has decided to leave Atalanta at the end of the 2024/25 football season and will not change his mind.
This is according to information gathered from multiple sources in Italy during the weekend.
It is believed that the 27-year-old winger has grown discontented with the Serie A side, particularly after Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini publicly criticised his penalty-taking ability following a crucial miss in the Champions League knockout phase play-off round against Club Brugge.
Ademola Lookman later described Gasperini’s remarks as “deeply disrespectful.”
Although the issue with the manager has been resolved, the episode has made it clear to the forward that he must leave Atalanta.
Accordingly, reports indicate that Lookman’s departure is now considered a done deal. Ademola Lookman will consider offers in the summer transfer window as he aims to open a new chapter in his career.
Already, the Nigerian has attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League who are ready to pay him top dollar.
Meanwhile, there is interest from Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, and now Tottenham Hotspur.
