Achraf Hakimi is not holding back as he prepares to face former club Inter Milan in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Munich.
The Moroccan full-back, now a key figure at Paris Saint-Germain, has made it clear that sentiment won’t stand in the way of victory.
Hakimi joined PSG in 2021 after a standout stint with Inter, where he lifted two Serie A titles. Despite his affection for the Italian side, his focus is now fully on helping the French giants secure their first Champions League crown.
“Inter will always be in my heart, but I’m at PSG and I’ll do my best to beat them,” Hakimi told France 2. “It’s a very special final… I had a great year in Milan and made a lot of friends there.”
Under coach Luis Enrique, Hakimi has thrived, netting 8 goals and providing 14 assists across competitions this season. His form has been electric.
“Luis Enrique brought me to a level of play that I didn’t expect,” Hakimi added.
