Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan and Paris Saint-Germain defender, has been named one of the five finalists for the prestigious African Ballon d’Or, set to be awarded on December 16 during the CAF Awards in Marrakech. The honor celebrates the best of African football talent.
The final list of contenders includes Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy, Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman, Ivorian champion Simon Adingra, and South African goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, alongside Hakimi.
Speaking about his nomination, Hakimi expressed his gratitude, saying, It’s a great satisfaction to see my work recognized by this nomination.
This trophy has an individual importance, but I am happy to be among the finalists.
When asked about his ambitions, the Atlas Lions’ star stated, I hope to win it, but whatever happens, it encourages me to continue to improve.
