Achraf Hakimi is riding high after clinching the Champions League title, calling it a standout moment in his journey as a footballer.
The Moroccan star joined the national team’s training on Tuesday ahead of their friendlies against Tunisia and Benin, where he reflected on the hard work that led to the triumph.
“We deserved this for a long time, we waited for this moment for a long time. We are very happy and proud of the work we have done,” Hakimi said, clearly moved by the achievement.
He credited the win not only to personal effort but to the constant support from Morocco. Hakimi also used the moment to inspire the next generation, urging them to focus, trust their coaches, and chase their dreams with discipline.
Joining him in camp is Abdelhak Assal, who has received his first call-up. The Nahdet Berkane midfielder was emotional about the opportunity.
“My message to the fans is to be optimistic about the Moroccan national team and this generation to achieve the continental title and to honour Moroccan football,” Assal said.
