ACHILLE WEBO “ETO’O DOES NOT FORCE ME INTO THE SELECTION”

Cameroonian international striker Achille Webo has responded to the recent debates and discussions surrounding his recent call-up to the national team, the Indomitable Lions. Webo, who plays for Fenerbahçe, expressed surprise at the reactions and denied any influence from Samuel Eto’o in his selection.

Webo emphasized that national team call-ups are based on a player’s performance and contribution to their club, and he believes that his consistent performances at Fenerbahçe justified his inclusion. He rejected the notion that Eto’o forced his selection, pointing out that there were times when Eto’o didn’t come, and he did, and vice versa.

The striker called on the public to support the Indomitable Lions in their crucial match against Tunisia, emphasizing the importance of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Webo stressed that missing three consecutive competitions would be a disappointment for Cameroon.
