Massimiliano Allegri has declared that he will not see out the end of the season as the head coach of AC Milan. The announcement comes after a challenging period for the Italian manager and the club, with the final straw being the recent 4-3 defeat against Sassuolo on Sunday.
AC Milan officially confirmed Allegri’s departure in a press release on their official website this Monday. Allegri’s coaching tenure had faced scrutiny due to his team’s performance, winning only 26.3% of matches this season compared to a significantly higher 60.5% in the previous three seasons.
As a result of Allegri’s departure, Mauro Tassoti has been appointed as the interim coach of AC Milan.
