AC Milan are stepping up their interest in Lyon star Rayan Cherki as they look to bolster their attacking options.
The French-Algerian winger, who dazzled in last season’s Europa League, has caught the attention of several top clubs, and Milan are now serious contenders.
Cherki’s performances speak for themselves. He topped the charts for goal chances created (46), big chances (15), assists (8), and combined goals and assists (12), earning him the title of Europa League Youngster of the Year.
However, signing him won’t come cheap. While Cherki has a €22.5 million release clause, it can only be activated during the January transfer window. For now, Lyon are firm in their stance, they’ll only consider offers starting at €40 million.
The Rossoneri are keen but face stiff competition and a high price tag. Whether they can strike a deal this summer or wait for January remains to be seen, but Cherki is clearly high on their wishlist.
