AC Milan earned a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Como in Serie A on Saturday, despite Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze playing no part in the contest.
Como Take Early Control
Como looked the stronger side for much of the first half and were rewarded for their attacking intent when Luca Da Cunha put them ahead. The hosts dictated play, pressing high and forcing Milan onto the back foot.
Milan’s Second-Half Turnaround
Despite struggling to find a rhythm early on, AC Milan regrouped in the second half and mounted a comeback. Christian Pulisic restored parity with a precise strike from a tight angle, shifting the momentum in the Rossoneri’s favor.
As the pressure mounted on Como, Tijjani Reijnders stepped up to deliver the winning goal, sealing all three points for Stefano Pioli’s side.
Chukwueze Absent, Milan Climb the Table
Chukwueze, who has made 21 league appearances this season and scored three goals, was unavailable for the match.
However, Milan managed to secure a vital victory without the Nigerian international, moving up to seventh place in the standings with 47 points. Como, meanwhile, sit 13th with 29 points.
With the race for European qualification heating up, AC Milan will look to build on this result in their upcoming fixtures.
