Suhail Al-Arefi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has dispelled rumors surrounding the hosting of the Egypt Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek in the United Arab Emirates in March.
In a statement made during the “Kora Fi Al 90” program, hosted by Ibrahim Abdel Jawad on the radio, Suhail stated, “There is currently no intention to host the Egypt Cup final in the UAE.”
The Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council added, “The Egypt Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek will not take place in the UAE.
We do not know anything about the speculation regarding its hosting in Abu Dhabi.”
Suhail Al-Arefi affirmed that the Egyptian Super Cup had achieved significant success beyond the football field, noting that everyone benefited from the tournament both on and off the pitch.
“The clubs participating in the tournament are all significant, with exceptional players.
It is a great honor for the UAE to host such matches and tournaments,” stated Suhail Al-Arefi.
He concluded, “Our goal is always to host various Arab and international events in Abu Dhabi, including some Egyptian championships, as Egyptian football possesses several major popular clubs.”
In another context, the UAE will witness the conclusion of the Super Cup of Champions’ matches on Thursday.
The third-place playoff between Pyramids FC and Ceramica Cleopatra will be followed by the final between Al Ahly and Modern Future.
The football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the thrilling culmination of these prestigious matches in the Emirates.
