Moroccan international Abdul Hamid Sabeeri played a pivotal role on Sunday as Al-Fayha secured a thrilling victory against Abha with a scoreline of 3-2 in the 21st round of the Saudi Professional League.
Sabeeri, breaking his goal drought, notably scored his second goal for Al-Fayha in the Saudi league during the match.
Abha took the lead with a penalty from Gijtosh Krychowiak in the 29th minute, but Sabeeri equalized for Al-Fayha in the first minute of added time in the first half.
In the 70th minute, Fashion Sakala netted the second goal for Al-Fayha, with Sabeeri securing his brace in the 89th minute. Ahmed Abdo Jaber scored Abha’s second goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time in the second half.
The game also saw Al-Fayha’s Hussein Al-Shawesh receiving a red card in the fourth minute.
With this victory, Al-Fayha climbed to the tenth position in the league standings with 25 points, while Abha remained in the seventeenth position with 15 points.
It’s worth noting that Sabeeri joined Al-Fayha last summer on loan from Italian club Fiorentina for one season for a fee of 500 million centimes, with a purchase option of 2.5 billion centimes at the end of the loan period.
