Galatasaray are being linked with a move for 17-year-old Senegalese centre-forward Abdourahmane Mbodji from Génération Foot.

The Turkish Süper Lig champions are reported to be monitoring the highly rated teenager, who is currently valued at around €300,000 and plays his club football in Senegal’s Ligue 1 with Génération Foot. The level of interest is yet to be clarified, with the reported probability of a deal listed as “?” at this stage.

Mbodji, born on 22 April 2008 in Richard-Toll, is a right-footed centre-forward and wears the number 17 shirt. He is attached to AS Académie Génération Foot, one of West Africa’s most respected development pathways. His current contract details and expiry date have not been disclosed, leaving open the possibility that he could become a free agent in the near future if no extension is agreed.

So far there is no indication that Génération Foot have entered formal negotiations or agreed a fee, but Galatasaray’s interest reflects growing European scrutiny of Senegal’s domestic talent pool. Mbodji’s market value of €300k, recorded on 3 April 2026, would represent a relatively low-cost gamble for a major club seeking to secure a long-term prospect.

Mbodji has been featuring in Senegal’s top flight for Génération Foot, although detailed statistics such as goals, assists and minutes played – as well as specific recent match data including opponents, dates, scorelines and individual performances – have not been made public in the available information. He is listed solely as a centre-forward, underlining that he is viewed primarily as an out-and-out attacker rather than a versatile wide option.

With his age, profile and pathway through a renowned academy, any move to Istanbul would mark a significant step up and could be a defining moment in shaping Mbodji’s career trajectory, reputation and potential if the transfer speculation eventually turns into a completed deal.
