France-born midfielder of Mali descent, Abdoulaye Doucoure was on target for Everton on Saturday afternoon, helping the team to secure a point in the thrilling contest against Manchester United.

The English Premier League clash ended 2-2 as both teams shared the spoils.

Everton started brightly, opening the scoring in the 19th minute when Doucoure directed a header over the defense to find Beto, who made no mistake in slotting the ball home.

Abdoulaye Doucoure then turned from provider to scorer in the 33rd minute, reacting quickest to a rebound inside the six-yard box and nodding the ball into the middle of the net to double Everton’s advantage.

Manchester United, however, mounted a spirited comeback in the second half. Bruno Fernandes pulled one back in the 72nd minute with a well-placed free kick that curled into the right-hand post.

The visitors completed the comeback in the 80th minute when Manuel Ugarte capitalized on a rebound and struck a precise shot inside the left post to level the game at 2-2.

After his goal today, Abdoulaye Doucoure now has two goals and one assist after 22 appearances in the English Premier League this season.
