Abdoulaye Cisse’s case hits a dead end as Zamalek cleared to register players
Abdoulaye Cisse’s hopes of securing overdue payments from former club Zamalek have hit a wall, as new details dismiss recent claims of a FIFA complaint.
A source inside the Egyptian club told Kooora that reports about the Burkinabe striker filing a case are unfounded. Cisse, who departed Zamalek in 2016, is no longer eligible to pursue the matter under FIFA rules.
“According to FIFA regulations, a player may not file a complaint against a club to claim financial dues, if more than two years have passed since the last date that can be claimed, so Cisse, who left in 2016, has no legal right to escalate against Zamalek,” the source said.
Zamalek’s current legal standing remains intact, and the club faces no block in registering players.
“At the moment, Zamalek is in a sound legal position and has the right to register players normally, after settling the dues of Jamie Pacheco, Khaled Boutaib and Yasser Hamad,” the source added.
Cisse’s chapter at Zamalek may be long closed, at least in the eyes of the law.
