Moroccan international Abderrazak Hamdallah revealed the behind-the-scenes details of his ‘Panenka-style’ goal against his compatriot Munir El Mohammadi on Monday in a match between Al-Ittihad Jeddah and Al-Wahda in the Saudi league.
Hamdallah scored two goals, one of which was a ‘Panenka’ penalty against Munir El Mohammadi, the goalkeeper for Al-Wahda.
In a statement after the match, Hamdallah said, “El Mohammadi challenged me during our time with the national team, saying that I wouldn’t score against him with a ‘Panenka’.”
He added, “That challenge stuck in my mind, and when the opportunity arose, I scored against him with a ‘Panenka’.”
