Abdellah Ouazane: Morocco’s rising star and Ajax academy sensation

Abdellah Ouazane: Morocco’s rising star and Ajax academy sensation
Abdellah Ouazane, a versatile young footballer from Morocco, has emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in European football. Known for his tactical adaptability, the 15-year-old has proven his ability to excel in various midfield roles, earning the attention of top scouts from leading clubs across the continent.

Already playing for Ajax Amsterdam’s under-18 team, Ouazane’s impressive performances are paving the way for a potential promotion to the reserve squad later this season, marking a significant milestone in his budding career.

A Promising Journey Begins

Born in Morocco, Ouazane started his footballing journey with local amateur club Zobergia before moving to the Netherlands and joining Ajax’s renowned youth academy at just seven years old.

His development since then has been remarkable, highlighted by accolades like being named the best player at the prestigious Algarve Youth Tournament in Portugal last year, a competition featuring elite youth teams from around the globe.

Internationally, Ouazane has shone in Moroccan colors. Representing the U17 national team, he played a pivotal role in the 2023 UNAF tournament, including a standout performance in Morocco’s 5-1 victory over Egypt.

After contributing in a hard-fought draw against Tunisia, he quickly returned to the Netherlands to feature in a derby against PSV Eindhoven, where he showcased his talent with both a goal and an assist in the U16 league.

A Talent in High Demand

Ouazane’s skills have not gone unnoticed. Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Inter Milan are reportedly among the European heavyweights keeping a close eye on the young midfielder.

However, Ajax appears determined to retain their rising star, underscoring his value to the club’s future plans.

Moroccan journalist Hamza Chtioui, an expert on Moroccan players in the Eredivisie, described Ouazane as “one of the most promising talents in all Dutch academies.”

Despite his growing profile, Ouazane remains focused on his development, steadily building a reputation as a player to watch.

Loyalty to Morocco

While Ouazane has chosen to represent Morocco at the international level, the Dutch Football Federation continues to pursue him, highlighting his immense potential.

His commitment to Morocco, encouraged by the Royal Moroccan Federation, solidifies his role as a beacon of hope for Moroccan football.

Abdellah Ouazane’s journey is only beginning, but his rapid rise at Ajax and growing international recognition suggest a bright future ahead.

As his name becomes more widely known, he stands as a testament to the potential of young talent from the African continent.
