Abdel Wahid El Sayed has challenged the narrative surrounding Ahmed Mostafa Zizo, insisting the player was never shortchanged by Zamalek.

In a bold television appearance, the former Zamalek manager said Zizo had always been paid on time, often ahead of others, thanks to direct financial support from ex-club president Mamdouh Abbas.

“Zizo was always sending messages to the fans that he was sacrificing for the club, while the truth is that he was getting his dues first and foremost,” El Sayed stated.

He dismissed reports of unpaid wages and accused the winger of misleading supporters: “He has no arrears… he got everything he was owed under his contract and can’t claim the same amount twice.”

El Sayed contrasted Zizo’s approach with players like Omar Gaber and Mohamed Shehata, who signed without demanding upfront payments.

He pinned the real issue on Zizo’s father, saying his interference blocked contract renewal talks and led coach Jose Gomez to recommend a sale to profit from the player’s exit.
