In a pre-match press conference ahead of the Europa League clash against Real Betis, Abdallah Sima, currently on loan from Brighton to Glasgow Rangers until the end of the season, shed light on his future plans, leaving the door ajar for a permanent transfer.
The 22-year-old forward, formerly with Slavia Prague, has garnered significant attention among Glasgow Rangers supporters, establishing himself as one of the standout performers in the Scottish Premiership since joining the team this summer. Sima’s prolific record boasts an impressive 13 goals in 27 appearances, showcasing his impact on the pitch.
Despite the absence of a purchase option in the loan agreement, the prospect of retaining Sima beyond the current season seems plausible for the Light Blues.
Addressing questions about his future, Sima expressed openness to the idea of a permanent move, sharing his sentiments in the press conference held on Wednesday.
“You know, in football, anything can happen. But to be honest, I’m really happy to be in Glasgow at the moment and to wear this special jersey for me,” he stated, offering a glimpse into his contentment with the Rangers.
Acquired by Brighton for 8 million euros in the summer of 2021, Sima is yet to make an appearance for the Seagulls. In contrast, his time with Rangers has seen him thrive, and the player appears to be relishing the experience.
“It’s a team that I really like. They have everything to make me happy.
I said in my first interview that it was a club that I really like. I’m happy to be here and I hope we find things from here,” he added, emphasizing his positive outlook on his current footballing journey with Glasgow Rangers.
