CAN 2015 PRELIMINARY: THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC-GUINEA BISSAU MATCH RELOCATED TO BRAZZAVILLE

Centrafriqueeeee

The upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Central African Republic and Guinea-Bissau, initially scheduled to take place in Bangui, will now be held in Brazzaville. This decision was made by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to safety concerns.

“The RCA-Guinea Bissau match will be played on neutral ground as CAF believes that the safety of players and officials is paramount,” stated Mamadou Ocatve Adiallo, President of the competition commission of the Central African Football Federation.

To streamline travel costs, players will assemble directly in Brazzaville. International players based abroad will head straight to the Congolese capital for their preparation. Adiallo also mentioned that arrangements with international airlines are being finalized for their transport.

Adiallo emphasized the importance of restoring peace in the Central African Republic to ensure that future matches can be played in Bangui.
