Moroccan forward Suhayb Driouech sidelined due to Knee injury
Suhayb Driouech, the Moroccan international and player for Excelsior in the Dutch football league, has suffered a severe knee injury that prematurely ends his football season during a match against PSV Eindhoven.
This injury will also deprive him of participation in the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
MRI scans revealed that Driouech has suffered a tear in his knee tendons, which will keep him off the pitch for a period ranging from six to eight weeks, effectively ending his football season.
This injury deals a significant blow to the young striker Driouech, as his team will miss his services in their battle for survival, in addition to losing his chance to represent the Moroccan national team at the upcoming Paris Summer Olympics.
As previously reported by “Hesport,” Nigel de Jong, the sporting director within the Dutch Football Association, has been in contact with Suhayb Driouech in recent days, urging him to carefully consider his final decision regarding the national team he will represent.
Driouech had joined the Moroccan Olympic team under the guidance of coach Tarek Sektioui, participating in the team’s recent training camp in Antalya, Turkey.
Meanwhile, Driouech has received official contact from PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, regarding a potential transfer to the team starting from the upcoming summer transfer window.
Negotiations between the parties have reached advanced stages.
