Recent reports from German media outlets suggest that Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui has emerged as the leading candidate to depart Bayern Munich at the end of the current season, opening the door for a surplus of players in the right-back position for the Bavarian club.
According to the “Bayern Insider” newspaper, Mazraoui is likely to leave the fortress of Bayern Munich after the season, particularly given the abundance of profiles in his position and the return of Croatian player Josip Stanišić from his loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen.
The same source indicated that Mazraoui himself would not object to leaving the club if the circumstances and offers were right, seeking a change of scenery after intermittent struggles with muscular issues that have hampered his usual performance.
Mazraoui has been absent from Bayern Munich’s squad for the second consecutive match, with coach Thomas Tuchel stating that he was not called up for the match last Saturday due to his lack of readiness.
The abundance of injuries has disrupted Mazraoui’s trajectory with the Bavarian club this season, as he has missed 15 out of 39 matches due to injury, a situation that now threatens his future with the German team after the current season concludes.
