Paul-George Ntep, who joined Rennes during the winter transfer window from AJ Auxerre, reflects on his initial struggles with his new club in an interview with Goal. He acknowledges that he has not yet reached his best form and has struggled to establish chemistry with his teammates.
“In all the matches I have played, I have never been at my best level. It was difficult to build understanding with my teammates. It was a learning period for me. Initially, I was a bit shy, reserved, and withdrawn. The injury occurred just when I was starting to gain confidence and freedom in my game,” Ntep explained.
Despite being a setback, Ntep sees his injury as an opportunity to rest and recuperate after a demanding first part of the season with Auxerre.
“Life is like that, and this injury also allowed me to recover from my first part of the season with Auxerre. For me, this end of the season is a bonus. I came here to play at the highest level and integrate into the team, and it’s never easy,” he added.
