It’s official: the Ethiopian national team has appointed a new coach, Portuguese Mariano Barreto, two months after the dismissal of Sewnet Bishaw. The announcement was made by the national federation on Wednesday.
Barreto brings with him a wealth of experience, particularly in African football, having previously coached Ghana. Additionally, he has served as an assistant coach at Dynamo Moscow and as the head coach of Maritimo Funchal.
The Portuguese coach has signed a two-year contract with the Ethiopian national team, signaling a commitment to lead the team in upcoming tournaments and competitions.
