Philippe Troussier has expressed his desire to coach Morocco and lead the team to victory in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, which the country will host. However, he also harbors another ambition: to return to Japan, where he previously coached the national team from 1998 to 2002.

The 59-year-old French coach, who guided Japan to the round of 16 at the 2002 World Cup, sees coaching the Japanese Olympic team at the 2020 Tokyo Games as the perfect culmination of his career. Troussier stated, “It is my dream to return to Japan. I hope they will think of me for their Olympic team for 2020; it would be a great end to their career.”

In addition to his aspirations with the Japanese national team, Troussier is keen on contributing to youth development in Japan. He expressed interest in leading a training program for young players aged 14 to 20, recognizing the importance of foreign coaches’ experience in nurturing talent at this level.

Troussier’s coaching career spans various clubs and national teams, including a stint with Marseille from 2004 to 2005. His wealth of experience and desire to make an impact in Japan and Morocco signal exciting prospects for the future.
