Vahid Halilhodzic’s tenure as coach of the Atlas Lions seems uncertain, at least for the time being. Although his name was previously circulating within the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, recent developments have suggested otherwise. The current coach of Algeria has been mentioned in discussions, but this possibility has diminished following the appointment of the new president of the FRMF.
Faouzi Lekjaa, who was unanimously elected as the head of the Moroccan Federation, announced his intention to appoint a local coach to lead the Lions in the upcoming days. Reports from the Moroccan press indicate that Badou Zaki, a finalist with the Lions in the 2004 edition of the CAN, is the frontrunner for the position. Earlier mentions of Halilhodzic’s candidacy stemmed from local press sources closely associated with Faouzi Lekjaa.
