Sadat Ouro-Akoriko, the Togolese defender currently playing for Free State Stars in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL), has reportedly decided to join Amazulu FC, effective from the end of his contract in June. Despite interest from other prominent clubs like Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars, Ouro-Akoriko opted for Amazulu due to their sincere and direct approach towards him.
In an interview with the South African website Kickoff, Ouro-Akoriko expressed his appreciation for Amazulu’s genuine interest in signing him, stating that their approach meant a lot to him. He revealed that while there were discussions with multiple agents representing other clubs, he felt that only Amazulu demonstrated a serious intent to acquire his services.
Ouro-Akoriko, who has scored two goals this season, has spent three years with Free State Stars in South Africa. He previously played for Etoile Filante du Togo in the Togolese second division.
The Togolese international has already signed a pre-contract with Amazulu, which will be effective from July 1st, spanning a three-year duration.
This move marks an important transition in Ouro-Akoriko’s career and signifies Amazulu’s ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming seasons in the PSL.
