Standard de Liège maintained their dominance in the Belgian championship play-offs despite a challenging match against Racing Genk on Sunday, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Despite being reduced to 10 men, Standard showed resilience throughout the game.
The match started with Standard falling behind early as Vossen scored for Genk in the 7th minute. However, just before halftime, Frédéric Bulot equalized for Standard with an assist from Michy Batshuayi.
After the break, Batshuayi himself gave Standard the lead, displaying his Belgian-Congolese talent. However, Genk managed to salvage a point with a late equalizer from Schrijvers.
Despite the draw, Standard de Liège remains at the top of the standings in the play-offs after three rounds, with 38 points. They are followed closely by Zulte Waregem with 36 points and Anderlecht with 35 points.
