Manuel Amoros is poised to become Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant coach at OM for the upcoming season. The former coach of Benin’s national team, known as the Écureuils, confirmed his presence at the Vélodrome stadium during Friday evening’s match against AC Ajaccio.
“Yes, I was indeed seated next to him during the match against Ajaccio. That’s correct. Diego Reyes, a Chilean physical trainer, was also present,” Amoros shared with our colleagues at Media Foot Marseille.
Following a stint as the coordinator of the Comoros national team, Amoros took on the role of head coach for Benin in January 2012. However, in June 2013, he mutually terminated his contract with Anjorin Moucharafou, the president of the Beninese Football Federation, citing interference issues from the latter.
