José Mourinho, the renowned Chelsea coach, has been fined by the English Football Association following his expulsion during the Premier League match between Aston Villa and Chelsea on March 15th, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for Chelsea.
The disciplinary action levied against Mourinho entails a fine of £8,000, approximately equivalent to €9,700. Additionally, he has received a warning regarding his conduct for future matches. The decision was made by the Independent Regulatory Commission established for this purpose, which found the charges against Mourinho to be justified.
Mourinho’s alleged offense involved “bad conduct,” as he was accused of once again entering the field and approaching the match referee with the intention of speaking to him. This incident marks another chapter in Mourinho’s history of confrontations with match officials.
