A seminar organized by the Union of West African Football Federations (UFOA), in collaboration with FIFA and Interpol, is currently underway in Dakar, Senegal. The seminar aims to educate African specialists on the dangers of fraud and match-fixing in football.

Representatives from 65 member states of the UFOA, including Senegal, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania, Liberia, and Mali, are participating in the two-day event.

The objective is to raise awareness about these issues and equip participants with the necessary skills to combat them effectively. The Senegalese Minister of Sports emphasized Africa’s role in leading the fight against match-fixing, highlighting Interpol’s involvement in combating crime through international cooperation.

The seminar seeks to define strategies for preventing match-fixing and enhancing the capabilities of African football stakeholders in combating these threats, with the ultimate goal of safeguarding the integrity of African and global football.
