Moroccan football legend, Mustapha Hadji, has suggested that his compatriot, Abderrazak Hamdallah, striker for Al Ittihad Jeddah, is facing difficulties due to his French teammate, Karim Benzema.
Following yet another defeat for Al Ittihad, this time in the derby against Al Ahli, where they lost 1-0 earlier this week in the Saudi Professional League, Hadji shared his insights on Hamdallah’s performance.
Speaking on the “Fii Al-Marma” program aired on Al Arabiya, Hadji expressed, “There is a mental issue, in addition to the technical problem, because Hamdallah and Benzema play in the same position and perform similar roles.”
“In the match against Al Ahli, Hamdallah made several technical mistakes and was not in an excellent physical condition, which affected his performance in the game as he only managed one shot,” he added.
The Moroccan legend continued, “I believe that Hamdallah is capable of overcoming these issues because he scores a lot of goals, and this gives him more confidence.”
